Alex Leventhal is based in Los Angeles and has been an industry leader in admissions consulting for over 20 years. He works with college and graduate school applicants from all over the world, and is regularly quoted in the Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report and Poets & Quants.
Alex holds a BA in Philosophy from Haverford College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Alex began his consulting practice helping applicants to the top MBA and Law Schools. Former clients began asking for help with the undergraduate admissions process for family members, and Alex expanded his practice to include college admissions consulting services through Ivy Mentors.
Alex is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and has been an alumni undergraduate interviewer for the Office of Admissions at Haverford College. He has completed coursework in the College Counseling Certificate program at UCLA. Prior to becoming an admissions advisor, Alex held various executive positions at Fortune 100 companies and tech start-ups.
Alex is a former collegiate varsity soccer player and a 3-handicap golfer. His competitive spirit is engaged for each client. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and 2 sons. When he’s not advising young applicants, he helps his own kids with homework and serves as a caddie for his son in elite Southern California junior golf tournaments.
